About

Hannah Kay Rowland, raised in the quaint town of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, cultivated her passion for music influenced by her father's side of the family. Singing has always been something that came natural while her musical journey began at home with a karaoke machine. As a child, Hannah threw herself into vocal lessons, musicals, A cappella groups and Instagram singing videos to gain experience. In the summer of 2023, she ventured into professional recording in Nashville, Tennessee, thanks to a referral from Connecticut's renowned Rock and Blues Artist, Jeff Pitchell (BB King, Jimmy Vaughan, Phil Lesh, J Geils, Rick Derringer, Clarence Clemons). He connected her with producer and singer/songwriter Matthew Szlachetka (Scott Underwood/TRAIN, David Bianco, Jeff Silbar), who instantly recognized her talent and started to work on recording a collection of songs with Hannah. While she cherishes singing a variety of genres, Hannah ultimately embraced country music, inspired by artists like Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Lainey Wilson. Her song choices reflect a personal connection, deep admiration for the artists, and a genuine love for the genre.

In the Studio

In July 2023, Hannah Kay Rowland embarked on her inaugural recording session at Pentavarit Studio, nestled on Music Hill in Nashville, Tennessee. Collaborating with producer and guitarist Matthew Szlachetka, she crafted four songs with the expertise of engineer Tim Craven (Brothers Osbourne, Kacy Musgraves, Josh Ritter), drummer Matt Bubel (Kip Moore), pianist/organ player David Crutcher (Pitch Meeting Band), bassist James Cook (Luke Bryan), and vocal coach Sarah Aili (Radney Foster, AJ Croce).

While the initial studio moments were nerve-wracking, the atmosphere transformed as she entered the building and connected with the band. Engaged in the creative process from 9 am to 9 pm, those 12 hours proved to be the fastest of her life; she found herself reluctant for the experience to conclude. Her first studio encounter exceeded expectations, delivering an astonishing and surreal chapter in her musical journey.
